# Dropbox

> Connect Dropbox so agents can search, read, and organize your files

## Connect Dropbox

Dropbox connects with a Dropbox sign-in. An organization admin turns it on in **Control Hub > Integrations > Dropbox** and chooses how agents reach it:

* **Each member's own account** (default): every member connects their own Dropbox under **Your connections**, and their agents see only their files. Members who haven't connected are refused.
* **One shared account**: an admin signs in once, and every member's agents use that account and see everything it can see.

On Dropbox team accounts, paths start at the team space, so team folders and each member's own folder appear together under `/`, the way they do in Dropbox.

## Available tools

| Tool | Use |
| - | - |
| `dropbox_search` | Search by name, and by text inside documents where the Dropbox plan supports it. Filter by folder, file or folder, and extension. |
| `dropbox_list_folder` | List a folder, optionally including subfolders. |
| `dropbox_get_file_info` | Read one item's details: path, id, size, modified time, and revision. |
| `dropbox_read_file` | Read a text file inline (txt, csv, json, md, and similar, up to 10 MB). |
| `dropbox_download_file` | Download any file (up to 100 MB) into the conversation. `read_file` then extracts text from PDFs and Office files. |
| `dropbox_upload_file` | Upload text or a file the agent created. An existing name gets a numbered copy unless `overwrite` is true. |
| `dropbox_create_folder` | Create a folder. |
| `dropbox_move_item` | Move or rename a file or folder. |
| `dropbox_copy_item` | Copy a file or folder. |

Paths look like `/Finance/Reports/October.xlsx`. Any tool also accepts an `id:` value from an earlier result. Listings and searches return one page at a time; while `has_more` is true, call again with `cursor`.

To keep agents read-only, block the upload, create, move, and copy tools under the integration's tool permissions.

## Example prompts

* "Find the latest weekly sales report in Dropbox and summarize it."
* "List everything in /Finance/2026 and tell me what changed this month."
* "Download the October P\&L from Dropbox and compare it to September."
* "Save this summary as a text file in /Reports."

## Troubleshooting

* **Not connected:** in individual-account mode, connect your own Dropbox under **Your connections**.
* **Reconnect needed:** the Dropbox app was disconnected in Dropbox's settings, or access was revoked. Connect again.
* **No file or folder at that path:** list the parent folder or search to find the exact path.
